Welcome to the FCG!

The FCG is a website designed for open critique and review of fanfictions throughout the internet. I, LLK, originally got the idea from a similar group run through freewebs.com. Though I didn't like the setup of it there and the lack of focus on my fandom of choice, I did like the idea. So, I took it upon myself to create a group I could more enjoy.

Wanting to focus solely on CSI fanfiction for a while I took my idea to the moderators at Talk CSI and was whole-heartedly supported there. Several months have passed since then and I must say this group has grown to be far more of a success than I ever imagined it would. That's something that makes me very happy. It is the success that we were having that drove me to believe it might be time for a move. There are just too many things I'm growing to want to do here with the FCG it's time we had our own space to move around in.

Now that we have our own location we'll be able to expand and cover more area. All fanfiction fandoms will be welcome for critique here as well as all fanfiction ratings.

If there are any questions please contact me at hotmail at kpurvis121086 with the email subject clearly mentioning the FCG.

More about what we do:

This group is for anyone interested in improving their writing, beginners and advanced writers are all welcome.

The point here is for everyone to benefit, the ones doing the critiquing and the one being critiqued. I find that people actually gain a lot more when they take a close look at someone else's fic.

Here's how it will work.

--Each week, I'll chose one story from a group member to feature. It can be from any fandom. Now that we're leaving Talk CSI it will no longer have to be in accordance with Talk CSI standard rules and we can now feature any rating.

--Anyone interested in participating should email me.

--The story will be active for a week and then I'll post a new one. Discussion can continue on an old one for as long as need be but there will be a separate space created for the discussion of older pieces.

Each week the story chosen will be coupled with a topic question that was inspired by the story. For instance if the story is based on the MK saga from Vegas the question might be: “Should the author include background information with stories that relate heavily to a certain plot from the show, or would it be acceptable for them to assume that their readers know the whole story already?” This is strictly opinion and will be answered along with the critique. Best TQ answers will be awarded at the begining of each new feature week.

How to get your fic chosen:
1. Be active and critique for others.
2. Use good grammar and spelling.
3. Leave a message in the "Feature Requests" thread.
4. If you didn’t write a critique for that week for whatever reason, you won’t be picked. Sorry.
5. Don’t hate me if I don’t pick yours that week. I can only do one a week.

Please let me know if you’re interested or are planning to participate in this. I’d also love suggestions and or ideas.
